The man who craves to be free and unchained from the burdens of life will always look towards the sea for hope. As the traditional British sailing song ‘Heart of Oak’ says in one of its famous lines “Who are so free, as the sons of the waves?” So when you begin a new life down by a riviera, how should you live? It's a big adjustment to your lifestyle but it's one that is so exciting and mesmerizing that you won’t feel fear or apprehension. You need to consider your style, diet, schedule and the types of things you will not do as part of a very unique and small club.
Style points
If you live by the riviera, you will notice how the other men are dressing. They were traditional and classic clothes, some might call it boating attire. You can expect to see rolled up long sleeve shirts, made from lightweight materials like Merino Wool and Egyptian cotton. You will notice how they were chinos with loafers, a classic sign that you are near a boating culture. A sweater tied around the neck and draped along the back is very attractive and speaks of a man confident in the way he puts his outfit together. You should consider, wearing less jewelry, but more accessories in other categories such as beach shell bracelets, aqua stone necklaces and deep-sea diver watch.
A toy
You don’t want to be the only one without a boat, do you? Of course not! You want to be part of a fun and alluring boating culture, which is why so many newcomers speak with polycraft boats. They can make you small and or medium-sized boats to your exact design and specifications. They have a history of making very efficient and cool boats that are perfect for one to three people. Just speak with their sales team first and let them know what kind of boat you want. They will take down your details and then soon be onto their design department to become familiar with your desires. This relationship will then begin to flourish as you both agree on a boat and it begins to take shape in their work studios.
A taste for the sea
Seafood is one thing many people don’t like until they try the ‘real’ stuff down by the riviera. The restaurants and bars that line these places are always privy to the first batch of the first catch of the day. So you get incredibly fresh seafood, almost every single day depending on the success of the catch by the local fisherman. So acquire a taste for fresh shrimp, prawns, muscles and the local fish that swim by your feet every day.
Become known
The riviera is almost an exclusive club. If you want to be welcomed, become familiar with the people who own boats and attach them to the ports. Speak with them by introducing yourself and perhaps come bearing a gift, like a box of local delicacies.
The riviera lifestyle is so attractive because there is plenty of sun, seafood, style and freedom. This should help you get used to what is expected of you and hopefully everyone will welcome you to their scene.
