The World's ‘Chonkiest’ Cat Is Looking For A Family To Love And Adopt Him

By Paddy Clarke, Diply

One hell of a big cat has been on a quest to find his forever home, and has successfully been breaking the internet while doing so!

One animal shelter didn't realise that they had a celebrity-to-be on their hands.

Morris Animal Refuge is apparently "America's First Animal Shelter", having been founded in 1874, according to their Facebook Page.

However, it wasn't until they shared images of one of their particular rescues that they took the internet by storm.

Meet BeeJay!

BeeJay, also known as Mr. B is a 2-year-old male Domestic Shorthair, and is described as "a BIG cat with a big heart!" by the Morris Animal Refuge's website.

And "big cat" is one hell of an understatement!

Mr. B has even been described as a "a chonk of a chonk"!

Morris Animal Refuge first tweeted about Mr. B writing, "OMG, big boi Mr. B is a CHONK. He’s a chonk of a chonk. He redefines the term. Can you guess how much he weighs? More importantly, can you give him a home? Adopt this jumbo-sized package of fluff & love[...] to help this sad-eyed guy find happiness!"

And boy, did the internet love Mr. B!

His chonkiness quickly went viral!

The tweet quickly garnered tens of thousands of likes, retweets, and comments, with lots of people wondering what his actual weight was, and writing the likes of:

"He's freaking adorable and has the coloring of my first kitty! Cat face Curious...what does he weigh in at?"

"This cat is amazing and I want to squeeze."

"I mean, can we be 100% sure he's not actually a snow leopard with a dye job? I'm up in Roxborough and I’m kind of surprised I can't hear him stomping around."

Mr. B Weighs in at an incredible 26 pounds!

The rescue centre received such an incredible outpouring of support that they had to post a wonderful update tweet, writing, "Sweet chunky Mr. B’s amazed by the huge outpawing of interest in him - over 3000 applications! He has a foster (maybe forever) home now - but so many other great adoptable cats need you."

The news that Mr. B. may not be available any longer was a sad blow for a lot of people; however, there are still plenty of loveable cats looking for a home to call their own on the Morris Animal Refuge website!

Mr. B is now happy in his foster home.

The Morris Animal Refuge posted the above photo to their Facebook page writing, "Here’s Mr. B. in his awesome foster home, busy exploring and settling in. He really is one big kitty!"

Hopefully, Mr. B will be able to live out the rest of his wonderfully chonky days with his new loving family, and hopefully, he will continue to keep warming our hearts wherever he is!
